Netflix Your Agency
Note from episode 77
I am sure most of you out there have used or currently use Netflix. As of Q3 2023, they have over 247 million subscribers. So, yeah, a lot of people use it.
Even if you have not, there are other businesses doing this. They are guiding you on what to do. How? Glad you asked.
When you log in to Netflix, you will see two top 10 lists, one for movies and one for TV shows or series. If you are like most people, you can look over these lists to see what others are watching. There are many times I scroll through that list and say "Nah" but I still look.
Yes, I am curious as to what everyone else is doing. There is a chance my friends have or want to watch it and then we can compare notes, conspiracy theories, etc.
What does this have to do with your insurance business?
When you are showing your clients your list of products, that you should have, you can point out the top three that you talk about the most. Example:
"Mr/s. Client, here are all the various coverage options I offer my clients. The ones I tend to talk about the most are the hospital benefit that can offset or even eliminate your hospitalization co-pays your current plan has, cancer coverage to help offset that 20% of every chemo treatment you would be responsible for, and short-term care to help you age in place."
Is that high pressure? No. Was that good for your clients to hear? Yes. Will they inquire about any of it? Maybe. Are you doing your due diligence? Yes.
Your clients may not purchase any additional coverage, but they won't be left wondering what else is out there.
Side note, this is also why you have your own ecosystem of other professionals should your clients ask you about something you don't offer, such as 401K rollovers or a power of attorney. You can give them a professional referral to someone who won't try and "steal" them from you.
Your clients want guidance, just like I need suggestions on what to watch, so give it to them.
