Medicare AEP Sales Numbers

As Medicare AEP approaches, agents will be all about talking about the numbers they will have. 100, 200, 400+ sales...

Remember there are 2 main types of sales in AEP:

  1. Retention - Rolling over a current client into a new plan

  2. New clients - Bringing a new client onto the books

Retention is important, but saying “I moved 200 clients to a new plan in AEP” is not as impressive as saying “I had 200 sales in AEP.”

I have done Pre and Post AEP surveys and most agents’ sales numbers in AEP are retention sales with maybe 10% or less of sales bringing on new clients.

Remember compairison is the theif of joy

The moral of the story...no one cares. At the end of the day, your numbers are your numbers and no one else’s. Simply look at how your AEP was, determine if there was anything you may have done better, and move on with those improvements into Q1 and beyond.
